At the catering and rental company Van Reusel in Nuenen, it’s a busy period. Owner Mark van Reusel’s phone is ringing off the hook. Requests are pouring in, tableware is being loaded and unloaded, snacks are being prepared, and the dishwashing baskets are flying through the dishwasher. And about that last part—the dishwashing baskets—we’re talking to Mark.
“The company has been active for over 20 years, providing catering, rentals, and party services. “During busy periods, it can happen that glassware and tableware are rented out 2 to 3 times a week,” says Mark. This means that the glasses and plates need to be cleaned at least as often before they can be sent out again for the next event. Previously, Van Reusel used separate baskets; the used glassware and tableware had to be manually transferred from crate to crate. “If you calculate that all the glasses from the crate have to be placed in the dishwasher and then returned, and on top of that, the crate itself needs to be cleaned. That was a very time-consuming task,” explains Mark.”
Mark noticed that his colleagues approached things differently. They mainly used Transoplast’s plastic dishwashing baskets. Using these baskets simplifies the cleaning process and significantly reduces time and effort. These dishwashing baskets combine three functions into one system. The glassware is cleaned, stored, and transported in the same basket. Therefore, there’s no need to transfer the glasses in between.
The right solution
The dimensions of the baskets are also advantageous for Van Reusel. Mark mentioned that previously, it was quite a task because the crate dimensions didn’t match the dishwasher’s specifications. ‘We got so busy and started thinking about a solution.’ Our 3-in-1 baskets are designed to fit the size of professional-grade restaurant dishwashers. Additionally, the basket dimensions are compatible with load carriers such as roll containers and transport rollers.
Unique in the Netherlands
Van Reusel is the sole rental partner in the Netherlands offering the unique tableware line from Serax. ‘This was a significant investment, but it also immediately grants the capacity to deliver extensively,’ mentions Mark. To optimally protect this exclusive tableware during transport and storage, we custom-make the rinse baskets. The compartmentalization is perfectly tailored to the content, minimizing space loss and ensuring the content is well-protected against breakage and damage.
High recognizability
Since Van Reusel has a wide range of products, it’s important for items to be stored in a way that’s easily recognizable. At a glance, it should be clear which glasses are in the basket. Mark explains that they sort their tableware and glassware using colored upper frames and color clips. ‘Then they can quickly see which product it is. For instance, the champagne flutes are sorted by different heights using various colored upper frames.’ The clips on the crates indicate the product inside the basket. All these additions provide the products with high recognizability, making it easier for new staff members to pick the right item.
